2009 training weekend
On a dark November evening, a collection of alumni from up and down the country arrived at Andy’s parents house with games and treats to share for our second Alumni Training Weekend.
After another bumper year of cycle tours we've had a new crop of alumni who were keen to pick up skills for future projects. Over the training weekend we learnt about:
- Setting up your own group, presenting the issues and keeping volunteers
- Building your own workshop
- Working in schools
- Building effective behaviour change projects
Two fledgling projects were also born from ideas generated on this weekend. The Imagine Something Wonderful Collective are finding innovative ways to encourage people to eat less meat and The CC Words are aiming to engage the arts in issues relating to climate change!
As well as hard-core working, we also learnt knitting, making delicious root vegetable soups and a game involving stretching in inappropriate clothing and rollerblades!
