Festive T-Party
For just a few short hours last December, our offices in east London were transformed into a fun and festive venue, filling all those who came with that warm and fuzzy Otesha vibe...we were having our first ever fundraiser organised by cycle tour alumni: a festive T-Party!
Over the course of the evening we had lots of wine and tea-a-spilling, good chat and chilled music...and by the end of the night we had raised over 200 pounds for Otesha. Fantastic!
Not just a party with free tea...
The crowd puller was (probably) our mention of free tea, and there was much of it. Kindly donated to us by Luponde, we had every kind of loose leafed tea imaginable, beautifully packaged and served in teapots.
We were also catered for magnificently with a tasty dahl cooked by the 'Imagine Something wonderful and then Make it Happen Collective', who also premiered their fabulous Doof Cook Book. And we were overwhelmed by the amount of delicious homemade cakes we had on sale: Only the most committed souls got to taste of all of them by the end of the night!
Our evening was peppered with an array of crafty activities, with Thom heading up some card-making, Hanna selling some beautiful hand-sewn Christmas decorations, Jo teaching people how to knit and even a bit of potato printing...
We were also walking the talk about reducing our over-consumptive habits with a swap shop. Throughout the night guests brought in old clothes and left adorned with brand new outfits. And to meet our fun-seeking and sensual needs we even had a games area and our very own massage sofa!
Towards the end of the night we had a raffle giving away a wholefoods Holiday Hamper, a Lush gift box and hand-knitted arm warmers! The winners were pleased indeed. :-)
Thanks a lot to everyone who came, to Lush, Bumblebee Natural Foods and Earth Natural Foods for donating the raffle prizes and to Luponde , the donors of our fantastic gourmet tea.
