Projects for social change
Usually, once we start to understand how our lives here relate to global issues, we start to want to see things change. Just knowing doesn’t tend to be enough.
That’s why Otesha works with groups of young people over longer periods to help them create change in their local community, in ways that send ripple effects around the world.
The groups’ ideas drive the design and creation of the project: we support them through a collaborative design process and help them use simple, effective tools to bring those designs to life.
Projects so far have involved making a community food garden, having cooking parties and seasonal feasts, and doing films about community issues. Other projects just getting underway include street theatre in Bristol, a cycling network in Norwich, climate change workshops in Finland, and a bicycle dance troup in London!
And now even more new projects are brewing. Who knows where this could go…
